Our Ingredients

It starts with what's inside.

From rich butters and conditioning oils to the botanicals behind our fragrances, every TaliEssence product begins with the ingredients we choose.

Some are there for your skin. Some are there for your senses. And some help transform a collection of ingredients into a formula you'll actually look forward to using.

Ingredients for your skin.

The foundation of our body butters.

Our whipped body butters combine rich plant butters and oils and carefully selected supporting ingredients to create a formula designed to soften, condition and moisturise the skin- with that rich, whipped TaliEssence texture.

Shea Butter

The heart of the formula.

Shea butter is a plant-derived butter obtained from the nuts of the shea tree. Naturally rich in fatty acids, it's widely used in body-care formulas for its emollient properties.

In our body butters, shea butter helps soften the skin, reduce moisture loss and give the formula its rich, nourishing feel.

WHY WE USE IT
Softening • Emollient • Rich texture • Helps support moisture retention

Cocoa Butter

Richness your skin can feel.

Cocoa butter is a firm plant butter extracted from cocoa beans.

It's an emollient, meaning it helps soften and smooth the skin while creating a protective layer that can help reduce moisture loss.

It also contributes to the richness and structure of our body-butter formula.

WHY WE USE IT
Conditions • Softens • Adds richness • Helps reduce moisture loss

Jojoba Oil

Lightweight conditioning.

Despite its name, jojoba oil is technically a liquid wax obtained from the seeds of the jojoba plant.

Its lightweight skin feel makes it a useful partner for richer ingredients such as shea and cocoa butter.

We use it to help condition and soften the skin while contributing to the glide and feel of the finished body butter.

WHY WE USE IT
Emollient • Conditioning • Lightweight skin feel • Adds slip

Coconut Oil

For softness and richness.

Coconut oil is an emollient commonly used in body-care formulas.

Within our formula, it works alongside our plant butters and other oils to help soften the skin and create the rich consistency of the finished butter.

WHY WE USE IT
Softening • Emollient • Adds richness

Fractionated Coconut Oil

The lighter side of coconut.

Fractionated coconut oil differs from traditional solid coconut oil because it remains liquid at room temperature.

Its lighter texture helps balance some of the richer butters in our formula while improving spreadability across the skin.

WHY WE USE IT
Lightweight emollient • Improves glide • Helps balance texture

Vitamin E

A little ingredient doing more than one job.

Vitamin E is an antioxidant commonly used in skincare and cosmetic formulations.

It helps condition the skin while also serving an important formulation role by helping protect oils in the product from oxidation.

WHY WE USE IT
Antioxidant • Skin conditioning • Supports formula stability

Arrowroot Powder

Because rich doesn’t have to mean overly greasy.

Arrowroot powder is a fine plant-derived starch.

Our body-butter formula contains plenty of rich oils and butters, so arrowroot helps modify the finished texture and reduce some of the oily feel on application.

WHY WE USE IT
Texture • Skin feel • Helps absorb excess oiliness

Ingredients for your senses

Where fragrance begins.

Our perfume oils explore fragrance through botanical ingredients and essential oils.

Each material has its own aromatic personality — citrus can bring brightness, woods can introduce depth, florals can soften or intensify a composition, while herbs can create fresh aromatic contrasts.

But what really interests us is what happens when they're combined.

Welcome to the other side of TaliEssence.

🍊 Sweet Orange

Bright. Juicy. Familiar.

Sweet orange essential oil has the recognisable aroma of freshly peeled orange — sweet, bright and unmistakably citrus.

It brings freshness and energy to a blend and can soften the character of deeper botanical notes.

🍋 Bergamot

Citrus with another side to it.

Bergamot has a fresh citrus aroma, but there's more complexity underneath — with aromatic and subtly floral characteristics that distinguish it from sweeter citrus oils.

It can bring brightness to the opening of a fragrance while blending beautifully into floral and woody notes.

SCENT PROFILE
Fresh • Citrusy • Aromatic • Lightly floral

Golden Bloom • Woodland Mist

🌼 Ylang-Ylang

Floral, but definitely not shy.

Ylang-ylang is intensely floral, sweet and rich, with an exotic, creamy quality.

A little can completely change the personality of a fragrance, which makes it particularly interesting when paired with brighter notes.

SCENT PROFILE
Floral • Rich • Sweet • Creamy

Golden Bloom • Botanical Breeze

🌹 Rose Geranium

A rose that isn’t actually a rose.

Rose geranium essential oil comes from a geranium plant rather than the rose itself.

Its aroma combines rosy floral characteristics with fresh, green botanical notes, giving it a different personality from a traditional rose scent.

SCENT PROFILE
Rosy • Green • Floral • Botanical

USED IN
Rosewood Veil • Botanical Breeze

💜 Lavender

More complex than “relaxing.”

Lavender is instantly recognisable, but reducing it to simply a calming smell misses much of its character.

Its aroma combines floral, herbal and aromatic qualities, which means it can change considerably depending on what it's blended with.

SCENT PROFILE
Floral • Herbal • Aromatic • Fresh

Lavender Heaven

🪵 Cedarwood

The grounding note.

Cedarwood brings a dry, woody aroma to fragrance compositions.

It works particularly well beneath brighter or more floral ingredients, helping create depth, warmth and contrast within the overall scent.

SCENT PROFILE
Woody • Dry • Warm • Grounding

Rosewood Veil • Lavender Heaven

🌿 Eucalyptus

You know it when you smell it.

Eucalyptus has an intensely fresh, green and aromatic character.

Its distinctive scent can bring clarity and freshness to a fragrance composition and creates interesting contrast when paired with citrus, woods and other botanicals.

SCENT PROFILE
Fresh • Green • Aromatic • Crisp

USED IN
Botanical Breeze • Woodland Mist

🌱 Peppermint

Instant freshness.

Peppermint brings a recognisable cool, minty aroma.

It's powerful even in relatively small amounts and can introduce a fresh contrast to warmer, sweeter or more botanical ingredients.

SCENT PROFILE
Minty • Cool • Fresh • Sharp

USED IN
Woodland Mist • Botanical Breeze

🪵 Amyris

Soft woods in the background.

Amyris has a warm, soft woody aroma.

Rather than necessarily demanding attention immediately, it can contribute depth and warmth underneath more prominent aromatic ingredients.

SCENT PROFILE
Woody • Soft • Warm • Subtle

Lavender Heaven • Botanical Breeze

🌿 Skin meets scent.

Different ingredients. One TaliEssence philosophy.

Our body-care ingredients are selected for what they contribute to the formula, texture and skin feel.

Our fragrance ingredients are selected for the aromatic character they bring and what happens when they're blended together.

And when those two worlds meet, you get what TaliEssence is becoming:

Body care that cares about how your skin feels — and fragrance that cares about how you feel wearing it.
